The purpose of time-delay relays is to start or stop currents from moving in coils and armatures, the moving parts of electrical mechanisms. They are designed to allow electrical circuits to release at certain times. These types of relays are triggered either by the opening and closing of a signal or by input currents.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN TIME DELAY ON AND TIME DELAY OFF?
As for Timer ON Delay, Timer starts by turning ON the timer trigger bit, and the timer output bit turns ON when the setup time has passed. As for Timer OFF Delay, the timer output bit turns OFF when the setup time has passed after the timer input bit had turned OFF.
